Born and raised in London, Lawrence Quill earned his doctorate in Political Theory at the University of Essex. His academic work brought him to California where he took a founding role in creating the Stanford Center on Ethics.
He has appeared on NPR’s Philosophy Talk, and his work has been profiled by The Washington Post, The Financial Times, The Independent, as well as other media outlets across Europe. He returns to England, every so often, to share his research in open public lectures at Cambridge University where he has been a Fellow at The Center for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities. He is the author of numerous books and articles, ranging from nostalgia to civil disobedience to technology and democracy. He currently teaches at Cal State University in Silicon Valley and resides just over the Santa Cruz Mountains on the Pacific Coast with his darling wife Jazmin. |
